THE CAUSE
“I’ve never seen a painting that captures the beauty of the ocean at a moment like this.”
At BeachLabs.org we share this feeling very deeply. The ocean is filled with some of the world’s most beautiful art. Unfortunately, its beauty is under attack and society at large is the attacker.
A report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, in partnership with the World Economic Forum, states that by 2050 plastic in our oceans will outweigh fish.
So what about our beaches? We understand that not many people have a boat and the equipment necessary to go out into the ocean and clean up plastic and other debris. But all beach goers have the ability to dispose of their own trash and recyclable items while also making a conscious effort to clean up other garbage around them. It will be the teeny tiny changes in society as a whole that will make a massive difference.
BEACH OR DIE
If we don’t all take personal responsibility to clean up our oceans, society as we know it, is going to die.
We believe in educating the general public so that the untold number of people that visit beaches each year are consciously aware that they have a responsibility to clean up after themselves and others. For that reason we have designed the “Beach or Die” t-shirt.
We are also designing a beach bag that will induce people to pick up and recycle garbage on and around the shorelines.
Together we can “Save our Beaches”.
